Curriculum Overview
EARLY YEARS (EYFS)
In our Early Years classrooms, learning begins with curiosity. A question about a butterfly can lead to a story, a drawing, a counting activity, and a new word learned with excitement. This is how the British Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) comes to life at Mighty Oaks.
The EYFS framework guides us to nurture the whole child, not only academically, but socially and emotionally too. Through purposeful play, exploration, and meaningful experiences, children build confidence, independence, and essential skills in language, early literacy, and numeracy.
Our teachers carefully design each day to spark creativity and encourage discovery, while ensuring children are developing the strong foundations they need for primary school and beyond. In a warm and supportive environment, every child is known, valued, and gently guided to grow at their own pace.
KEY STAGE 1: PRIMARY CURRICULUM
As children move into Primary, their learning journey grows deeper and broader.
Building on the strong foundations of the Early Years, our Primary programme follows the British National Curriculum and brings learning to life through meaningful, topic-based experiences. Instead of learning subjects in isolation, children explore big ideas that connect English, Mathematics, Science, History, Geography, ICT, and Art & Design together in purposeful ways.
In English, students strengthen their confidence in speaking, reading, and writing every day. In Mathematics, they develop strong problem-solving skills through practical activities and real-life applications. Alongside this, they learn Bahasa and Mandarin, expanding their communication skills and cultural understanding.
Our classrooms are lively, engaging spaces where lessons are thoughtfully planned to be both challenging and enjoyable. Children are encouraged to ask questions, think critically, and share their ideas with confidence.
By the time they progress through Primary, they are not only academically capable but independent, thoughtful learners who are prepared for the next stage of their education and beyond.
